Program Change! Here's the Biggest Missed Opportunity in the history of Boston Television (New Cox Media Graphics 2024)

Please Note: My review of Finding Dory will be here next Sunday!

So, last Monday, Cox Media Group, the owners of WFXT in Boston, rolled out a new graphical overhaul to its stations. Yesterday, WFXT became the final station to introduce these graphics.
Here's the new look, courtesy of Cox's flagship station, ABC affiliate, WSB in Atlanta:
Some TV News fans think that the new visuals, especially the font choice, looks like the graphical design used on the stations owned by Fox Television Stations.
Here's an example of those graphics, from WTVT 13, where Fox's Graphics Hub is based.
With these comparisons, you'd think that WFXT would be listening, and have a new rebrand back to FOX 25, right?

Look below to find out.
What the heck! These graphics would have really benefitted from a rebrand back to FOX 25. Besides, check out the sign in front of their studios in Dedham!
Yup! It still has the FOX 25 logo, circa 1997! If I were there, I'd see a perfect opportunity to make an updated version of the 2006 logo.
Here's my take on an updated version using this logo.
Missed opportunity there, Cox! Also, they dropped their BBC News knockoff theme "Stream" for a classic Stephen Arnold theme, "Guardian". This theme has been used on Cox's other stations. I like this theme, but it holds no candle to the theme used by WFXT from 2006-2015.
